If you don’t know Kelly Baggett is or have never read his writings, you are definitely missing out on some high quality information.  Kelly is a performance enhancement coach that specializes in training athletes of all ages in everything from team sports, to bodybuilding, Olympic lifting and power lifting.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to read through Kelly’s three books, which are all fantastic.

Vertical Jump Development Bible

The Vertical Jump Development Bible is an awesome read for any athlete trying to improve their vertical jump and their power output.  Kelly does a great job in breaking down your weaknesses and how to train specifically so you’re not just spinning your wheels.  He offers a number of different training programs that are broken down by beginner, intermediate and advanced levels and by weakness.

Here are 14 specific topics that are covered:

  1. Most programs are based on hype and not proven training methods and tested research
  2. Say good-bye to one size fits all programs
  3. Target 10 Qualities For Spectacular Vertical Jump Development
  4. Know your weak points
  5. Simple tests to assess your strengths and weaknesses
  6. Learn 6 categories of plyometric drills and how they should be structured for optimal gains
  7. The 3 different types of leapers
  8. The different type of jumping styles
  9. The truth about training aids and gimmicks
  10. Natural Body Structure and its effect on your potential
  11. Potential
  12. Fast twitch or slow?
  13. Ethnic Influences: Fact or Fiction?
  14. Body Composition

The Ultimate No-Bull Speed Development Manual

The Ultimate No-Bull Speed Development Manual is another great read that follows the similar model of the vertical jump development bible.  In this book, Kelly talks about improving your ability to run faster to enhance athletic performance.  Kelly has such a knack at making what others seem complex, so easy.  There are over 50 weeks worth of sample workouts - including Warm-ups, Mobility, Strength, Reactive, and Lateral Movement Training - all based on your individual needs.

The No-Bull Muscle Building Plan

The No-Bull Muscle Building Plan is definitely a different approach than Kelly’s two other books, as this is geared towards those who are more interested in aesthetics than those who are concerned with becoming better athletes.  That being said, you will not be disappointed in the quality of information regarding proper training and nutritional practices to putting on quality muscle without all the fat associated with weight gain.  Kelly’s got some great advice and more sample programs and meals to get you started on the path to increasing your lean muscle mass.

All of Kelly’s products along with his website are great resources and are definitely worth checking out.
